When we meet for a session we will do a mixture of posed and candid shots...the majority being candid, they're the ones that capture who you and your family really are; they capture the heart. I will start by placing you somewhere and wait for something good to happen. I like you to be yourself, and relaxed...I'll never ask you to say cheese. Just have fun and go with the flow, I find that the best and most treasured photographs are those that catch that moment right in the midst of a smile, and even laugh...and the ones of the kids making silly faces and just being themselves. These are what create memories to look back on. Feel free to include anything that is important or meaningful to you...this helps make your photographs original to you and your family...and that much more special!
If we are doing the session in your home...
I will most likely walk around and check out the lighting in different rooms. I may even ask to move furniture or decorations around to utilize the best light that I find...and don't worry, if you have windows, I am positive I'll be able to find a nice spot for your session!
If we are meeting at a location...
I am up for trying any location you can think of! We'll meet up and just take a walk around looking for texture, color, and light. (weather permitting)
